Which is better? AI-generated or Human content. [2024 Debate]
We are now witnessing an era of Industrial Revolution 4.0 with Robots, Automation, and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Automation has not only taken control over various industries but has also started interfering with the creative and writing jobs.
Yes, AI is just around the corner with not only the manufacturing and logistic industries but also create jobs like writing succumbing to its ubiquitous strength and popularity.
A question often asked and needs an answer is that can AI ever replace content writers in future? Subsequently, another question comes to mind is that even possible?
It might be interesting to know that since the last four-plus years AI has been generating 3000 stories per quarter using its algorithms. However, these stories or the content generated is purely fact-based and have been easy to report the type of articles. Examples of such articles are the sports scores or stock updates and weather forecasts.
In the future when the technology becomes more sophisticated, during such times the AI will be able to produce more complex content such as event reporting and opinion pieces even better than the humans. One can even imagine AI getting a Pulitzer!
The requirement of the human writers will be reduced to getting a more complex and creative content marketing work. Small businesses can help themselves through engaging AI to generate low level similar to human-written articles.
AI is just like this giant black hole, which will absorb the world of SEO writing, leaving behind a void within five years. But before this happens, let us try to save our writers by penning down some fundamental differences between a machine-generated content and content by humans.
- Emotions matter — Unfortunately, SEO requires marketers to deal with human emotions. Humans have empathy and cultural instinct, which persuades the buyers and makes them feel at home. While robots are flat and mechanical, consider humans just another money transferring robot as their algorithms only guide them.
- Branding requires personal touch — Building brands on reputations created by algorithms, conversion numbers, or keywords is not enough. It may be one of the greatest strengths of the content bot to work out the right keyword density. However, a content revolving around it with only facts will not create a lasting impression on the customers’ minds. Branding will require human style, humor, and cultural references do not only contribute towards its identity but will also reach the psyche of the customers.
Lack of broader perspective — AI may be successful in creating articles that can capture a random visitor’s attention but will lack being a part of more general ecology, which consists of real-life opinions, queries, and conversations reflecting a human perspective product or service.
On the other hand, the human-generated content may have this insightfulness which an algorithm may not be able to envisage.
So, what we get from this distinction between AI generated content and human content? At the stage of beginners, AI has started creating waves by delivering content which understands the audience has helped the content marketers.
As the AI technology advances and becomes more sophisticated as well as intelligent in the years to come, there are chances that more and more content writers embrace AI for its intelligence.
We, therefore, arrive at the conclusion that humans and AI will have to find their own niche in writing.
Though AI content may be great and without errors, but will still lack the insight, humour, creativity, and empathy of a content created by a human writer. AI will not be able to dominate the creative writing industry in its entirety.
