Instead, aim for long-term keywords, such as “used laptops sales.” While there may be far fewer people searching for the phrase than “laptops,” consider detectives’ intent. People who search for “laptops” may be looking for various things — pictures, forums, a children’s cartoon film — but people searching for “used laptops dealership” may be looking to buy a laptop. By focusing on long keywords, you have a better chance of ranking well and attracting relevant traffic.

  • Keywords are based on location

2. Content

In addition to keywords, your site needs to have quality content to rank well. In addition, while search engines can read your articles as people, they can look at a few signals to determine if your content should recommend you to search engines.

If you think your site probably only covers one or two industries or interests, there is a good chance that some of your pages, articles, and blog posts are related. If possible, link this content together. If you have written a post about decorating a home, attach it to a previous post about interior design — and vice versa.

6. Off-page features

Your website is ranked according to the number of unique domain names returned to your site, indicating how many site owners target your content individually.

7. Access

Links to your site serve as “votes” for its content and quality. In addition, while you should not directly ask another site owner to contact you, look for opportunities to build relationships that can eventually grow into links. When content from another site is linked to your website, it helps to position your site as a reliable source of information and strengthen your search engine rankings in the process.
